Well we finally did it, we got to do our trip to London which has been planned since the end of November. So due to the fact that the girls school was being merged from an Infants and Juniors to a Primary school we had a whole 3 weeks off over Christmas which we LOVED. (I think you can always tell that it's been a good holiday when you don't once have to say 'I can't wait for the kids to be back at school')

Anyway, so the week that everyone else was back at school, Spence took the week off and we headed down to Mum and Dad's. On the Tuesday we got the train to Wimbledon and then after lunch got on the tube, which the kids loved of course. Our first stop was Westminster. We had seen Big Ben on the telly on New Years Eve and they wanted to go and see it. Well as you come out of the tube station Big Ben is directly in front of you. So as we got to the top of the stairs Elijah just stopped, blocking the whole exit and said "That's a BIG clock"

From there we walked down to Buckingham Palace. It was a lovely walk through the park seeing lots of ducks, geese and a few pelicans along the way. Faith was desperate to see where the Queen lived and her face lit up when she saw the statue of Queen Victoria, as she has been studying her in school last term. For some reason the temperature seemed to drop by about 10 degrees while we were outside the palace. So teamed with the fact that the Queen wasn't coming out side to say hello Phoebe was not a happy bunny and wanted to go back to Mama and Papa's house where it was warm.
(Hence only Faith in any of the pictures outside the Palace)

We compromised and decided to get the tube down to the Natural History Museum instead. All Elijah wanted to see was the Dinosaurs but he was very patient while we looked round the rest of the museum. Faith was not overly keen on the big T-Rex that came to life but Elijah LOVED it.

We then went in to the animal hall. Now Elijah is, lets just say OBSESSED with animals. He carry's his elephant, giraffe and lion everywhere. So when we walked into the hall and there in front of him were life size models of an elephant, giraffe and Rhino his face lit up. He put his hands in the air and said "My Animals". He then refused to move for the next 15 minutes. But to see the look on his face was more than worth it.
He was a lot happier then he looks in this picture
It was a long day and we have to say a special thank you to Daddy who spent the day carrying the pushchair up and down stairs to tube stations.
We had a great day and we are all so glad that we finally got to do our trip to London.
