Starting off with a bang

Well our summer holidays started with a fun packed birthday weekend.. We had a birthday party for Auntie Becky at Tres and Becky's house. It was a great night with lovely food and great entertainment provided by singstar. I have to make a point of saying how well Aaron and Ziah did on the singstar. Aaron beat his record with 9970 and Ziah while singing Mama Mia got an amazing score of 7000 all by herself at the grand age of 5. Boy that girl can sing.

This was followed by spending the next day in Hinckley for Great Grandad's 87th birthday. It was a great day and a nice chance to catch up with family we don't get to see very often.
I'd also like to say happy birthday to Auntie Michelle who we didn't get to see on her birthday but I have been told she had a great night out. Happy Birthday Auntie Becky, Auntie Michelle and Great Grandad we love you.

My nephew the drag queen

A few nights ago Faith, Phoebe and I went to see my nephew Aaron in his school performance of Hairspray. He played Edna Turnblad and as far as we are concerned he STOLE THE SHOW. It always amazes me how talented he is and we were all very proud of him.
Well done Aaron, can't wait to see what amazing performance you do for us next year.

Phoebe is 4

On Saturday Phoebe reached the grand old age of 4. She had a great time at her cinema birthday party where she invited 5 friends from school and then with cousins as well there were 14 of them all together. We saw The Frog Princess and everyone had a great time.
Phoebe blowing out her candle after a long day.
Trying to teach the girls how to skip after her cinema party.
The butterfly cupcakes that we gave to her friends after the cinema.

In the afternoon we went for a meal with some of the family. She is very happy to be a big girl of 4 cause she knows that when she is 4 she will be going to big school and she CAN'T WAIT.
Happy Birthday Phoebe Rose Princess we LOVE you and are super proud that you are such a good grown up 4 year old.

Future football star??????

Faith has been going to football club for the last 12 weeks and tonight was her last week. She went with two of her best friends from school Joe and Tyler. She has had a great time and even took the odd ball to the face like a pro.
In the warm ups she was excellent in goal, but I'm not sure if that was her goalie skills or her fluttering her eyes at the boys. Every one got a trophy for doing the course but Faith and 5 others got a medal as well for being on the most winning teams of the season.
She may not be showing signs to be the best woman footballer England has ever seen but she loved every second.

Way too many strawberries

After picking way to many strawberries Sarah gave me a great idea to make some strawberry and white chocolate fairy cakes.
I had 2 little helpers.
And they turned out great.

Finally we found the strawberry's.

Ever since Faith was born I have been planning on going strawberry picking ever time they are in season and I know Sarah has been the same. Well last Saturday we finally got round to going. Sarah found and lovely farm near them and off we went. I'm not sure who was more excited me and Sarah or the kids. We had a great time and collected a whole lot of strawberry's.
There was a little play area there and after we had finished the kids were playing. As Elijah was climbing into the sand box he cut his leg and got a splinter. Now Elijah is a child that is quite often hurting himself but it is usually on his head.

This was the first time he had hurt himself and could actually see it. So he cried for a whole hour. Yes an hour. At church the next day he told anyone who would stand still long enough, in his most pitiful voice.
"Nasty sandcastle hurt my knee"
So apart from Elijah's minor injury we all had a great time and we will definitely be there on the first day of strawberry season next year.

Faith's Music Festival

Last week we went to the local town hall to see a Music Festival for school children to celebrate music. It was over a few days and 2 of my nephew's had been in it the previous evening. Zak playing the violin and Aaron in the orchestra and several other groups.
On the Wednesday Faith went with her school where she played the hand chimes. She did a wonderful job as did all the children there. Faith's school performed 2 songs 'Give and little Whistle' and 'Tomorrow'. There was a group of year one children playing the hand chimes, some children for year 2 playing recorders and then the choir which was year 2 as well. As sign language is our schools second language the choir sang and signed their songs. It was a really moving performance of Tomorrow and several of the parents and teachers were in tears.
Well done Faith and the children of East Park Infants school, I was super proud of all of you.

School report time

When we go to parents evening and hear
"Phoebe is a happy polite little girl who loves doing her work. She is really ready for school, she's going to love it." and
"Oh if I could have a class full of Faith's. You just want to wrap her up and take her home, she is adorable and in the top group in every subject"
You end up with two VERY PROUD parents.
